Artist's Description

This one required an early wake-up call. I woke up at about 3 am to drive to the cliffs in time to catch the sunrise. Although there is no snow, this was shot in winter and it was fairly cold outside. It was also a bit of a challenge trying to hike out to the overlook with very low ambient light.

However, it was well worth it. I couldn't tell exactly how the sunrise was going to hit the cliffs or if there would even be clear line of sight to the sun. I left my house while it was still dark out, so I was basically taking a risk that I wouldn't get any usable shots if nature didn't agree with me.

Luckily, nature decided to show off a bit that morning. But hey, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

About Brad Brizek

Brad Brizek

Welcome! I'm originally from the southeast corner of Pennsylvania (just above Amish country), but I've traveled a good bit of the planet. I currently reside in Tucson, Arizona. I've been taking photos since 2006 and have been refining my style ever since. I have a particular passion for landscape, architectural, and transportation themes, although I've been known to do abstracts from time to time. If you like what you see, please come back regularly as I upload new shots all the time. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll find something that interests you!
