An 18th-century inn and tavern owned during the time of Washington's crossing by Samuel McConkey who operated a successful ferry business crossing the Delaware River.
McConkey's Ferry Inn, the tavern that General George Washington and his troops visited prior to crossing the river. The Baker family built the first ferry on this site, one of many Delaware River ferry sites in Bucks County. The Bakers sold the ferry business to Samuel McConkey, who was the owner in 1776. Washington Crossing, Taylorsville, Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States of America. 18th century historic stone architecture. Pennsylvania fieldstone. Colonial.
