F-16s taxi out for a Red Flag - Alaska fight at Eielson AFB, AK just outside of Fairbanks. The Alaska Range makes a stunning backdrop for all of the flying, when there's more than 30 minutes of daylight a day. Winter up there sees temperatures of -40F but summer is 70 and sunny for 23 hours a day. These aircraft are F-16CM Wild Weasels out of Misawa AB, Japan. The Wild Weasel mission is to hunt and suppress/kill enemy surface to air missile sites.
