Description
Another shot from the dead of winter in Oirase Gorge, northern Japan. I had to make my own path through the 3 foot deep snow to get back to these falls. Only about 100 yards or so. In sneakers. And jeans. I think I caught a cold a day later. Coincidence?
The ice here forms a little different every year, to it's worth coming back. This happened to be one of the few times that I was in Japan over the winter and not sent abroad for my job. Even though it was in the 'teens outside, I had to go. You know, for science and stuff.
