Description
Touring around Sapporo, a city in Hokkaido, the northernmost main island in the Japanese archipelago, my wife surprised me by taking us to a chocolate factory. It looked nothing like one.
Somehow, it was a cross between European architecture, antique hot chocolate cups and stained glass, with a little bit of Willy Wonka thrown in. The main product is a "croquer et blanc", which I'm pretty sure means "delicious little cookie sandwich with white chocolate." Either way, they had a dessert restaurant, and I'm a chocoholic. And yes, it tasted every bit as good as it looks.
