Description
The Facade of Tarr and Wonson Paint Manufactory still stands today and has been a fixture in Gloucester Massachusetts since 1874. They developed the copper based paint that was used on the bottom of boats to prevent barnacles. It was feared by many artists that the building would be allowed to crumble into dust. In 2008 good words came though when the Ocean Alliance purchased the Tarr and Wonson buildings to house their new whale research facility. I love it when a wonderful old building is saved!
